Status message

Thank you for your interest in submitting a paper for consideration for the 39th Annual SAVAH Conference on the theme of 'Reaching Sideways, Creating Our Ways' hosted by the Fine Art Department, Rhodes University, Makhanda, South Africa and the National Research Foundation (NRF) Arts of Africa Research Programme, 23-26 September 2026. The abstract portal is now CLOSED.

South African Visual Arts Historians (SAVAH) is an organisation of academics and professionals.

We seek to advance the professional practice of art history and visual culture in South Africa and to forge relations with practitioners from other disciplines and regions.
